* What are Idea Foundry Wall décor made of?
Our wall décor is made of very, very thin pieces of vinyl. A light adhesive holds each vinyl piece firmly to most hard, smooth surfaces until you're ready to remove them. Vinyl makes décor flexible, durable and washable. It's extreme thinness and matte finish make our wall decor look as though it's been printed on your surface. (And not like vinyl at all.)

   * Can I reuse my décor?
Sorry, no. Our wall décor is extremely thin and tends to stretch and tear as it is being removed. You'll also lose the precise positioning of the letters.

   * Can I get a custom design?
You bet!  Please ask us for the free quote!  Just dump everything that's in your head about the project into an email and send it to art@theideafoundry.ca.  Don't forget to include the size of the area you want your wall decor to fit into.  Also attaching the digital photo of the wall would help us!

   * Do you do logos?
YES!!  Our artists will be happy to consult with you!  Please ask us for the free quote!  Let us know about your company, shop, organization etc by an email at art@theideafoundry.ca.

   * Can I hang your wall décor over fresh paint?
We suggest waiting at least one month after painting.  If a piece of masking tape does not remove any paint from an inconspicuous place, you're good to go.

   * Can I put décor on any surface?
Our wall décor won't adhere properly to fabric, rough surfaces, dirty walls, some matte paints or to paint that isn't properly bonded with the underlying surface. If you're in doubt about your surface, try our test disk first which is included in the package.

   * Will décor work on "knock-down" or "orange peel" walls?
Some texture looks great behind our wall décor, but there's a fine line between what looks good and what won't work. Also, every wall is different.  Better try our test disk first.

   * Can I put your wall décor in rooms with high humidity like bathrooms?
Humidity doesn't affect the performance of our wall décor.  The surface that you are installing, however, should be dry when your are applying it.  Once it’s on, it can be wet.

   * Can I put décor on tile?
Our décor performs beautifully on glazed tile.  The décor, however, won't work well over grout lines.

   * Can I put the décor on wallpaper?
Maybe.  Because every wallpaper is different, we suggest trying a test disk first.

   * Can I put anything over my décor to preserve it?
Yes, you can apply clear paint to preserve the décor.

   * Can I use your wall décor outdoors?
Sure.  It doesn't transfer as easily in freezing weather, though, and the surface you're applying it to shouldn't be hot to the touch. Also be sure that the surface is clean, dry, hard, smooth and flat.

   * What if I can't hang my wall décor right away?
Our wall décor becomes more difficult to transfer the longer it's stored. (It's one of the reasons we only make it to order.)

We recommend purchasing our wall décor shortly before you need it, and hang it as soon as possible after you receive it.

If you must store our wall décor for a short amount of time, you'll have the best results if you keep it in a dry area away from excessive moisture and chemicals, at room temperature. The garage, for instance, is NOT a good place.  It's also a good idea to store our wall decor in the shipping container in which you received it.

   * How do I remove your wall decor?
Just slip a fingernail under one corner and carefully peel it away, keeping the piece as close to the wall as possible.  You might find that the warmth of a hair dryer speeds things up.

   * Can I clean your wall décor?
Use a mild household cleaner, a soft cloth or sponge, and a light touch. Avoid cleaners that contain alcohol or abrasives.

   * How do I get  your wall décor to arch over a doorway?
We can easily custom make our décor to fit anywhere.  Please let us know the width and the height of your ideal size!

   * Can I select different font for a quotes I want?
Yes!  There are a few ways to do so.

You can type that up with the font you wish to use in a word document (If you can convert it into a PDF that’ll be better).  When you do that, please let us know the name of the specific font.
